BLUE NOTE NY / MAY 26-31

Multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer and vocalist Terrace Martin is one of the most versatile and freely collaborative artists of his generation. A product of Los Angeles' deep music community, Terrace is a jazz-trained alto saxophonist whose roots stretch equally into West Coast hip-hop – he is perhaps best known as a key architect of Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly (TDE, 2015) and untitled unmastered. (TDE, 2016), contributions that earned him GRAMMY Award nominations and introduced his distinctive sound to millions of listeners. He has also recorded and performed with Snoop Dogg, Lalah Hathaway, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder and Raphael Saadiq, among many others, accumulating six GRAMMY Award nominations and an influence that spans genres. Terrace's Blue Note engagement offers New York audiences a rare extended look at this multidimensional artist in a jazz-club setting. Six nights of music that refuses easy categorization. DV
