TERENCE BLANCHARD AND RAVI COLTRANE WITH THE E-COLLECTIVE
92NY / JULY 23

Terence's E-Collective is an electric band—bass, guitar, keys, drums—that situates his trumpet inside a groove-oriented framework rather than an acoustic jazz one. Ravi on tenor and soprano saxophone adds a second horn voice. The pairing is generationally significant: Terence emerged from Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers in the 1980s; Ravi carries his father's name but has built his own saxophone language over thirty years. Together on one bill at 92NY, one night only.
