Four acts from the London jazz and soul continuum share a single bill. SHABAKA—born Shabaka Hutchings—has led Sons of Kemet, Shabaka and the Ancestors, and the Comet Is Coming, three distinct projects that mapped the range between Caribbean rhythm, South African spiritual jazz, and electronic texture. Kokoroko is a collective rooted in West African highlife and Afrobeat. Omar is a British neo-soul architect whose writing influenced a generation of Black British artists. Lovie represents the newest wave. The bill reads less like a random festival pairing than a deliberate statement about where improvised Black music sits in 2026—London-rooted, globally sourced, post-genre.
