Drummer Richard Baratta is also a successful film producer from movies such as The Irishman, Joker, The Wolf of Wall Street and Spider-Man, which won him recognition over a 50-film career. His drumming is energetic, groove-driven and steeped in Latin jazz flavor, refined by influences such as Jack DeJohnette. He has released several acclaimed albums, including the GRAMMY Award-nominated Music in Film: The Reel Deal (Savant, 2020), regularly performing in clubs and festivals throughout the New York/New Jersey area. Richard goes on at two at the free Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival, following the noon appearance of the James Langton New York All-Star Big Band. His Gotham City Latin/Jazz Septet is comprised of pianist Bill O’Connell, saxophonist Craig Handy, guitarist Paul Bollenbeck, bassist Michael Goetz, percussionist Paul Rossman and vocalist Carroll Scott.
