Join the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in “Sketches of Miles – Miles Davis at 100” to celebrate the centennial of the legendary trumpeter. The performances will explore Miles’ big band collaborations with arranger Gil Evans, who worked together from 1957 to 1968, starting with Miles’ Birth of the Cool (Capitol Records, 1957). Their work together includes albums like Miles Ahead (Columbia Records, 1957), Porgy and Bess (Columbia Records, 1958), and Sketches of Spain (Columbia Records, 1960). This centennial celebration at the JLCO will offer audiences the genius of one of jazz’s most transformative partnerships. SBL
