Sands leads a quartet with guitarist Gilad Hekselman, bassist Scott Colley, and drummer Ryan Sands. The guitar-piano front line is an unusual choice—no horn—which shifts the harmonic texture toward something more open and layered than a standard piano trio. Gilad is an Israeli-born guitarist with a clean, searching sound that complements rather than competes with Christian's piano. Scott has anchored hundreds of sessions across the jazz spectrum and brings authority to the low end. No specific thematic program announced. Christian came up under Christian McBride's mentorship and has developed a style that honors hard bop structure while pursuing more contemporary harmonic territory.
