Billy has played drums on recordings by Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery, Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, and dozens of others across five decades of jazz history. Now in his eighties, he leads a quartet that prioritizes group sound over any individual feature. Nicole plays tenor saxophone with a grounded, full tone and brings her own compositional perspective to the material. The 92NY series—which runs five consecutive Fridays through July—is among the most consistently high-level programming in the New York region this summer. This is its opening night.
